My son has recently been diagnosed with ADD. Where can I learn more about his diagnosis and treatment options?
A good place to start is Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder, CHADD.org. The site offers resources for parents and those new to ADD/ADHD including FAQ's and Terms to Know, support forums and links to local chapters, news, research and much more.
As you browse the site, be sure to compile a list of questions for your next visit to your son's doctor.
The price of hot lunch at school went up again this year. It's getting really expensive and very difficult to budget. Is there any public assistance for hot lunches? If so, how do I find out if I qualify?
"The National School Lunch Program (NSLP) is a federally assisted meal program operating in public and nonprofit private schools and residential child care institutions. It provides nutritionally balanced, low-cost or free lunches to children each school day."
Learn more about the program by reading the fact sheet.
To find out if your family meets the criteria, ask your school for an application.
